Epilepsy Foundation of South Australia

As part of the ongoing dedication to people with epilepsy the Epilepsy Foundation of South Australia was formed in 1996.

The Epilepsy Foundation of South Australia is for the benefit of any person with epilepsy, living in South Australia, the Northern Territory or areas bordering the state of South Australia.

The aim of the Foundation is to promote research and education in the social and medical aspects of epilepsy and to support such other epilepsy related activities as the Board of the Foundation may from time to time determine.

The Epilepsy Foundation of South Australia manages a Trust Fund formed from donations and bequests. The income from this fund is used to support the objectives of the Foundation.

What the Foundation aims to do

The Foundation will call for applications and will consider them for relevance to one or more of the following objectives:

  • Support to individuals with epilepsy, and to their families
  • Assistance to support groups and other agencies relating to people with epilepsy
  • Facilitating the provision of services for people with epilepsy
  • Publication of information on epilepsy
  • Education of the community on epilepsy
  • Support of research on the social implications of epilepsy for persons with epilepsy and for their families
  • Support of research into epilepsy and the basic mechanisms which may cause it

How to Financially Contribute to the Trust Fund

The income through donations and bequests to the Foundation Trust Fund ensure the continued exploration into this disorder.

The Foundation seeks donations from individuals and grants from corporations, semi-government and government bodies to supplement the Trust Fund.
